Concordats are agreements between sovereign states and the Roman Catholic Church. A new web site, Concordat Watch keeps track of these agreements and includes a detailed explanation of the background to concordats.

The web site was down on 2 November for about eight hours due to a database problem. This has now been fixed by our hosting company. We apologise for the inconvenience.

IHEU reports record number of visits to its web site

The IHEU web site www.iheu.org received more than 259,000 visits in July 2007. This was the first time that over 250,000 visits were made in a month. Created to promote and support international Humanism, the site now carries over 3,000 articles dating back to IHEU's foundation in 1952.

Nun havebla ankau en Esperanto Humanism and African Youths: The Way Forward for a Progressive Partnership Africa Working Group (AWG), the regional arm of IHEU member organization IHEYO, coordinating the growth of Humanism in Africa, is organizing a nine-day e-conference to enable young Africans to discuss the fundamental issue of the advancement of Humanism in Africa. The online conference will be held in parallel with the IHEYO conference in Vijayawada, India: see also the conference announcement.

Afrika Laborgrup (AWG), la regiona brako de IHEU- membra organizo IHEYO, kunordiganta la kreskon de Humanismo en Afriko, organizas nau-tagan elektronikan (e-)konferencon por ebligi al junaj afrikanoj diskuti la fundamentajn problemojn de humanisma progresigo en Afriko. Fondite antau jaro, AWG rigardis kun interesego la entuziasmegon kun kio junaj afrikanoj antauenigas la idealojn de Humanismo per iliaj agadoj, meze de ega religiemo. Por ilin helpi atingi pli, IHEYO pretas utiligi la partnerecajn kaj kunlaborajn ilojn de organiza kreskigo kaj evoluigo, por atingi nian komunan celon popularigi humanismon en Afriko.

Humanism and African youth: the way forward for a progressive partnership

Africa Working Group (AWG), the regional arm of IHEU member organization IHEYO, coordinating the growth of Humanism in Africa, is organizing a nine-day e-conference to enable young Africans to discuss the fundamental issues of humanism advancement in Africa. Founded a year ago, AWG has watched with keen interest the zeal with which young Africans promote the ideals of Humanism through their activities, amidst crass religiosity. To assist them in achieving more, IHEYO is poised to utilize the partnership and collaboration tools of organizational growth and development, to achieve our common goal of popularizing Humanism in Africa.
