Last month I spent four days in Oslo where meetings were held of the IHEU Executive Committee, the European Humanist Federation, the European Humanist Professionals, a seminar ‘Dignity of Life – Dignity of Death’ and a workshop on humanist funerals. Quite an exhaustive programme. Since some of meetings overlapped, I could not attend all of them anyway, so at one pint I decided that enough was enough and went with a group on a most enjoyable sightseeing tour. With an outstandingly well-informed guide we visited the fascinating old Viking ships, took a walk in the Vigeland Park with its impressive statues, and saw the famous ski jump outside Oslo.

As regards all those meetings I mentioned, I’ll spare you a report of their deliberations. If you are really interested, the IHEU office in Utrecht is prepared to forward
