EHF appeal to European President Barroso
Submitted by admin on 10 April, 2008 - 18:20.
The European Humanist Federation has written to the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, to ask whether the European Union will now consult its member states and allies with a view to withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council, in the light of the Council's recent decision to change the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression. The resolution requires the Special Rapporteur "to report on instances in which the abuse of the right of freedom of expression constitutes an act of racial or religious discrimination".
