Paul Kurtz

Paul KurtzPaul Kurtz is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is Editor-in-Chief of Free Inquiry magazine, published by the Council for Secular Humanism. He is Founder and Chairman of the Center for Inquiry-Transnational, founding Chairman of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP), and is on the Editorial Board of Skeptical Inquirer. He is also former Co-President of the International Humanist and Ethical Union (90 organizations in 35 countries), London, UK; and founder and president of Prometheus Books. He is the author or editor of some 46 books, including Affirmations: Joyful and Creative Exuberance (Prometheus Books, 2004), Science and Religion: Are They Compatible? (Prometheus Books, 2003), Skeptical Odysseys (Prometheus Books, 2001), Skepticism and Humanism: The New Paradigm (Transaction 2001), Embracing the Power of Humanism (Rowman & Littlefield 2000), among others.
