Living conditions

The congress considering that it is the duty of Humanism to take into earnest consideration the condition of those living in misery and poverty wherever they are,

considering that circumstances unworthy of human beings create a mortal danger for democracy and freedom of thought,

is of opinion that in national and international affairs, one important concern should be the alleviation of these material, moral and intellectual miseries, thereby creating the conditions for understanding and conciliation between all peoples of the world for the sake of the prevention of war.
