* Having taken note of the contents of the statement made by the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on the position of gay men and lesbians, issued by the Vatican on July 23rd 1992, a statement which implies that discrimination against gay people is permissible because homosexuality is - in the words of the statement - "an objective disorder":

Why should gays and lesbians care.

Why should we as gay, lesbian, transexual and transgendered people even care. If the Catholic Church or other religions don't want us, we should form or join our own religious groups, such as the Metropolitan Community Church. We have the freedom to do so.

Now in Muslim countries it's a different matter. Gays have to be concerned, as our very lives are at stake. But I don't worry too much about the Christian west.
