Description:

This day was proposed by the International Committee against Stoning at the International Conference against Stoning, held in Naples, Italy on September 26, 2003, and was endorsed by the conference. July 11 should be the day on which people around the world reaffirm their rejection of stoning.

People who want to help may also want to contact the Amnesty Internatioanl website in their respective countries. This will allow interested persons to write letters on behalf of people who are sentenced to stoning.

Amnesty Int. doesn't have a special section for stoning offences, but their middle eastern section may have cases on which you can write to government officials on behalf of individuals who are sentenced to stoning in various countries.
