Athanasius Nweke

Athanasius Nweke is a member of Humanist Friendship Center, Nigeria, and is now studying in Denmark.

Azam Kamguian

Azam Kamguian is an Iranian writer and women's rights activist. She was a medical stude at Pahlavi University in Shiraz until arrested and imprisoned for a year for organising student protests. The second time she was imprisoned for political activities was after the Islamic Republic of Iran took power. Azam was released from prison in 1983, after a brutal treatment in prison including constant torture and solitary confinement.

She has written several books including "Islam, Women, Challenges and Perspectives", "Feminism, Socialism and Human Nature", "On Religion", "Women's

Liberation and Political Processes in the Middle East", "Islam & Women's Rights", "Iranian Women's Movement for Equality" and "Godlessness, Freedom from Religion & Human happiness" She is the founder and the chairperson for "Committee to Defend Women's Rights in the Middle East" and editor of its bulletin, "Women in the Middle East". Currently she lives and works in London.

Babu Gogineni

Babu Gogineni is Executive Director of IHEU and organiser of the Conference "Empowering Women'.

Diana Rookledge

Diana has been chair of Humanist Housing Association in the UK, Chair of British Humanist Association and Vice Chair of the Fawcett Society, the oldest society in the UK working for equality between men and women by constitutional means. In 2002 she became a representative on the Religious Education Council for England and Wales. She has been associated also with the Rationalist Press Association whose Vice-Chair she has been since 2002. She is a volunteer organiser of the Conference 'Empowering Women'.

Jane Wynne Willson

Former Co-Chair and Vice President of IHEU as well as former Chair of the British Humanist Association, Jane Wynne Willson is well known as author of several books on ceremonies: Funerals Without God, Sharing the Future (Wedding) and New Arrivals (Baby

Naming).

Kaj Foelster

A sociologist by profession, Kaj has worked in Women Studies, Gender Main streaming and anti-discrimination laws. She is a former equality officer in Germany. She is politically active in the European Network of Swedish women and is a Board Member of the IHEU Member Organisation Swedish Humanist Association. Humanisterna.

Monique Wonner

Monique Wonner is Head of Delegation of the IHEU NGO Delegation in UNESCO, Paris.

She is also an activist of the Union Rationaliste and of the French organisation for Skepticism AFIS.

Robbi Robson

Robbi Robson is first Vice President of IHEU and former Chair of British Humanist Association. She represented IHEU at the Global Platform for Action on women's rights and gender equality in China in 1995. She is Vice Chair of UNIFEM, UK National Committee and former chair of National Alliance of Women's Organisation (NAWO).

Sabita Mishra

Sabita Mishra is an associate of the IHEU Member Organisation International School of Humanitarian Thought and Practice, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. She is a research scholar in the department of sociology in Punjab University.

Sonja Eggerickx

Sonja is Vice President of IHEU and also Vice President of UVV, the Flemish speaking Belgian Humanist member organisation of IHEU. She is also Treasurer of CCL-CVR, the organization uniting the Dutch- and French-speaking Belgian humanists.

Sonja became involved in the Flemish part of the Belgian humanist movement through her work as a teacher of "non-confessional ethics", and is currently a school inspector responsible for the ethics course in Belgian schools in two provinces. She is a National Board Member of the Flemish Humanistisch Verbond, and chief editor of MORES, a humanist magazine for teachers.

Demos Gora

Dr. Demos Gora is from the Atheist Centre in Vijayawada, India. The Atheist Centre is recepient of IHEU's International Humanist Award for Social Work.
