IHEU, in association with member organization the Norwegian Humanist Association announces that the 18th World Humanist Congress is to be held in Oslo, Norway, on August 12-14, 2011. The main Congress theme is "Humanism and Peace".

Every Humanist organisation has to work within the constraints of the society and the political situation it finds itself in, and the context the British Humanist Association (BHA) works in is somewhat paradoxical, to say the least.

Early in 2007, Mina Ahadi, together with a group of colleagues, set up the Central Council of ex-Muslims in Germany. After declaring that her motive was to help people to leave the religion if they wanted, she was put under police protection as a result of anonymous death threats.

Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Its formal inception dates from 1950, after the Assembly passed resolution 423 (V) inviting all States and interested organizations to adopt 10 December of each year as Human Rights Day.

Texts of three conference papers added

Keeping God out of Government was the theme of an important conference held in Melbourne, Australia on 17th and 18th June 2006. Sponsored jointly by the Australian National Secular Association, the Council of Australian Humanist Societies and the Rationalist Society of Australia, the conference featured papers on every aspect of church-state separation in Australia and beyond.
