EHF General Assembly and Conference: 24-27 May 2012: Utrecht, Netherlands
Submitted by Matt on 13 December, 2011 - 15:19On the last weekend of May 2012 the Humanistisch Verbond (Humanist Association, Netherlands) will host the annual EHF conference and General Assembly in Utrecht. The Humanist Association will be working closely with the Dutch Humanist Alliance of humanist organisations in the Netherlands and the European Humanist Professionals (EHP).

Humanists and Atheists Hold World Congress in Oslo; Terrorist attacks add new significance to topic of peace
Submitted by Matt on 3 August, 2011 - 13:53Despite damage from the recent bombing in Norway, secular activists from more than 50 countries will meet in Oslo, August 12 to 14, to discuss how to build a more peaceful world. The International Humanist and Ethical Union’s (IHEU) Eighteenth World Congress, on the theme of “Humanism and Peace” (www.human.no/oslo2011), will meet at the Oslo Congress Center, damaged by the July 22 bombing, with events also at the home of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

The conference, from April 7 through 10, 2011, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was attended by more than 450 people. Sonja gave the following brief summary of the IHEU and its activities:

The 2011 World Humanist Congress will be held in Oslo, Norway, in August next year. Humanists, atheists, freethinkers, secularists, skeptics and others will meet for the tri-annual congress. IHN takes a look into the preparations for such a large event.
European Humanist Federation to meet in Stockholm, 28-29 May 2010
Submitted by Matt on 19 April, 2010 - 21:33The 2010 General Assembly and Annual Conference of the European Humanist Federation (EHF) will be held in Stockholm, Sweden at the end of May. Events will start with an open meeting in the morning of Friday, May 28, followed by the General Assembly in the afternoon. The next day – Saturday, May 29 – EHF is holding a one day conference on Women and Religion, as detailed below.
